G GUARD STATE-OF-THE-ART COATING OVEN
As coating is cured or hardended, time and temperatures are crticial considerations. Basically, infra-red heat energy is emitted by a hot body and transfeered in straight lines until it makes contact with another body when the heat is absorbed by the latter, causing it to rise in temperature. The main advantage of radiant heating is that it produces a rapid rise in object temperature. The temperature should be exactly controlled to the specified coating curing standard.
It has already been proven that, during the drying process of the coating, infrared radiation can penetrate to the required depth in the coating system so that it dries from inside and outwards. Skin or blister formation on the surface is prevented and drying of the coating is speeded up. The result is a brilliant surface that meets our quality specification.

What is my car size?
How thick are the layers of G Guard Coating, as compared to the clear coat of a normal factory paint?
The thickness of the clear coat averages around 50 microns.
A single layer of G Guard Top Coat is about 2 microns, which is considered OPTIMUM; and 100x thicker than wax, which is about 0.02 microns thick.

How can the numbers of coating layers applied be identified?
The number of coating layers on top of the clear coat (Top Coat, Middle Top Coat, and Middle Coat) can be determined from the reading of a coating thickness gauge.
The more layers, the better?
If compared within G Guard Coating product range, more layers offer more durability and stronger bonding. However, if compared with other brands which are based on an entirely different formula, this correlation does not apply. In general, the number of layers is not the sole determination of the quality of the coating.
Will water marks and stains form on a coated car?
The formation of water marks and stains is possible. Coating is not expected to prevent such problem, but what it can do is to buy you more time to act when the contamination sits on the coating layer before directly affecting your paint.

Will my car be scratch-proof after coating?
No, it will not be totally scratch-proof after coating.
However, at a hardness of 9H, G Guard Coating does help the paint to withstand light scratches or swirl marks because it adds toughness to the lacquer. And depending on the number of layers, the added thickness also functions as a sacrificial barrier from external physical damage.

Is it true that once coated, the car would not need any waxing anymore?
Yes, waxing would not be necessary once the car is coated. In general, coating is superior than waxing in terms of durability and strength. The paint will also be well preserved when you opt for coating because regular polishing for waxing purposes may thin the paint.
Is maintenance needed for G Guard Coating?
At G Guard, while we do not impose scheduled maintenance on customers in order to keep the warranty, we strongly encourage you to send your car back for an all-round service, ideally once in 6 months.
How long will G Guard Coating last?
The lifespan of the Top Coat will last about 2-3 years, while the rest of the layers are quite permanent. Throughout its lifespan, a gradual thinning of the Top Coat can be observed mainly when the hydrophobic effect and gloss have lessened. And then, it will be time for a Top Coat renewal.

Is there any special car wash shampoo needed for my car after applying G Guard Coating?
No, with the car coated, normal car wash shampoo would work just fine. We also have our G Guard Car Shampoo available for purchase at store.
